Nowadays, the access to energy represents a major stake for our societies. Energy consumption is still strongly based on fossil fuels, while on Paris Agreement, carbon dioxide reduction by 2020 have been a commitment. Therefore, Indonesia government through KEPMEN ESDM No.39 K/20/MEM/2019 about RUPTL PLN 2019-2028 set the target of 23% renewable energy portion on national energy mix by 2025.
PLN as a state electricity corporation in Indonesia progressively support and give the best effort to develop the program of sustainable and renewable energy. Through this event, we would like to gather ideas and thoughts on how to give better and cleaner energy for the people and the environment.
Data and Information Technology Center of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources stated that in 2017, potential of renewable energy in Indonesia is around 430.000 MW while only 2% (8.000 MW) have been utilized. This has become both a challenge and an opportunity since then.
